Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to your questions about an Annual Fund Pledge
What is the Annual Fund Drive?
Each spring, MLUC members and friends make a promise of financial support for the Annual Fund that supports the programs, staffing and operations for the upcoming church fiscal year. This is the time for you to think deeply about the role of MLUC in your life and our impact in our larger community and the world.
What is an Annual Pledge?
An annual pledge is a commitment you make to financially support the church in the next year. The church staff and board make decisions on the range of programming, staffing, and initiatives for the coming year based on the total amount of these collective pledges.
I am not a member. Am I expected to make an Annual Pledge?
If you are not a member, we hope you will consider a donation to help support our programs.
How much should I pledge to give to the Annual Fund?
Please reflect on what MLUC means to you and give generously according to your means. For example, this could be a pledge amount between 1% - 5% of your adjusted gross income, depending on your stage of life and other financial commitments and obligations.
When do I need to submit my Annual Pledge form?
It is preferred that you submit this by the end of March to enable our board and staff to finalize the budget and plan the programming and staffing for the coming year. If you cannot make your pledge by the end of March, please let our Director of Finance know when you can make your annual pledge.
How do I make payments to fulfill my Annual Pledge?
There are a number of ways to do so - by check, online by credit or debit card, through Bill Pay from your bank, and by donating securities such as an IRA, DAF (donor advised fund) or other securities. See Ways to Make Payments for more information.
What if I can’t complete my Annual Pledge?
Life happens and sometimes one can’t complete their entire pledge due to unforeseen circumstances. That’s OK. Please let the finance director know so we can adjust budget plans accordingly.
Who do I contact if I have additional questions?
Please contact a member of the stewardship team at stewardship@mluc.org or MLUC’s Director of Finance, Mark Rizzo, at mark@mluc.org.
