Flowers and Family Bands

Perhaps the best quirk about the MLUC Band is that it will look a little different every month. But for the Flower Communion this Sunday, we present two ultra-familiar factions of MLUC musicians—yet never before heard together: the Brown and Zink families! (Together, does that make us the "Brink" Family Band?) You'll hear Anna and Teresa on vocals, Michael on guitar and percussion, Jodie on piano, Henry on bass, and I'll play fiddle and percussion. The music to accompany this iconic and beautiful multigenerational service includes Diana Krall's "Garden in the Rain," Josh Ritter's "Strong Swimmer," Michael Franti's "The Flower," Holly Near's "Singing for our Lives," and Holly Cole's "I Can See Clearly Now." Together we will sing hymns #1000: "Morning Has Come," #123: "Spirit of Life," and #305: "De Colores."

A special shout-out to Jodie and Teresa, the devoted mothers in the band who would share their music with us on Mother's Day! (Though I can think of no better way to celebrate them than to make music together.)

See you Sunday!
