Strike Up the Band

If you would like to sing in the Multigenerational Choir or play in the Community Orchestra, please join us for our rehearsal this Sunday, April 6 after the service in the Main Meeting Room at 11:30 a.m. We will prepare for our Easter Service on April 20, including a rehearsal on April 13 at 11:30 a.m., and on the day of the service at 9:00 a.m. Participants of all ages and experience levels are welcome, and the orchestra is open to all instruments. Children and youth are especially encouraged to join. Sheet music (including chords) for instrumentalists is available here. If your particular clef or transposition is not included, please let me know so that I can create a part for you. Non–music readers are equally welcome to sing or play by ear.

This Sunday, the MLUC Band takes the stage in a fresh, new configuration: Tina Adams, piano/vocals; Nathan Surles, guitar/vocals; Brian Warren, guitar/dobro; Sam Levine, bass; and Jay Wiley, drums. Evoking "wildness," they will play Dar Williams's "Go To The Woods," Ring Starr's ubiquitous "Octopus's Garden," and Tom Petty's "Wildflowers." Together we will sing hymns #347: "Gather the Spirit" and #1064: "Blue Boat Home."

See you Sunday!
