John serves as a Developmental Minister leading us through intentional change towards five primary goals as we prepare for a new future. John comes with extensive experience in transforming and leading congregations having served in IN, MD, CA and most recently as the Senior Minister of the Unitarian Church in Westport, CT.
He considers himself an "enchanted agnostic with mystical tendencies" with a strong grounding in ancient wisdom literature and Buddhist practice. John is also a certified Spiritual Director and works with individuals and our congregation to broaden our understanding of spirituality.
He holds both a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degree from Meadville Lombard Theological Seminary in Chicago. His doctoral thesis "Creating Theology Together" has been published as an online course through Meadville and is used by congregations across the country.
John is married to the love of his life, Francis and they have five daughters, all strong women. When John isn't in church he is often walking his two dogs or reading in the parsonage where John and Francis live.
