Fairmount String Quartet's 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert

Fresh off their appearance on NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday, the Fairmount String Quartet will be performing a special 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert on Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., with a pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. They will be joined by former FSQ members and friends, Barbara Jaffe and Melissa Locati on violins, Louise Jaffe on viola; and Linda Metzler on cello to perform the perfectly ebullient Mendelssohn "Octet." They will also perform (Mendelssohn's contemporary) Emilie Mayer's "String Quartet in G" and Jessie Montgomery's "Strum." This is a pay-what-you-wish event. A meet-the-artists reception will follow the concert.
Their new CD, Lou Harrison's "String Quartet Set" is releasing on February 28th. You can hear it and other Fairmount String Quartet releases on your favorite streaming platform. CD's will be available for purchase at the concert.
